Overexposure/Underexposure

A photograph, a relationship, life, and an overexposure or an underexposure.

Writings for the diptych paintings:

Overexposure/Underexposure
Oilpainting and charcoal on linen
Diptych 51x51 & 51x51" (130x130 & 130x130cm)

Two paintings made from a twinfold point of view, of the same image, of the same social setting.

The diptych consists of mirrored images representing on one hand the Overexposure, an overwhelming amount of aspects of the social setting to the extent of erasing and loosing the image. On the other hand the right part of the diptych, with only charcoal on linen, Underexposure leaves only a scheduled and fixed attitude towards the social relation.

Inbetween these two points of view reality is conveyed.
